Article 1: Definitions
1: The name of the organization shall be North East Crawlers.

2: Throughout these by-laws the North East Crawlers will be referred to as NEC.

3: Throughout these by-laws the term Board of Directors refers to club president, vice president and events director.

4: The term "vehicle" shall be in reference to the below mentioned vehicles throughout these by-laws:

a: Jeep: CJ series, YJ Wrangler, TJ Wrangler, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Liberty.
b: Truck: Chevy, Dodge, Ford and Toyota.
c: Import: Samarui, Sidekick and Tracker.
Article 2: Membership
1: Your vehicle needs to be set up to tackle any terrain the trails throw at you. What we are looking for are vehicles with a significant amount of lift (be it suspension or body lift) and the tires that fit that lift properly. Generally 3" suspension lift and at minimum 33" tires. Exceptions to the rule is to be determined by club members vote.

2: Membership dues are $30 for new memberships and $20 a year to renew memberships. Memberships will expire on December 31st. You will have until January 31st to renew. If you miss this deadline, you will be considered a new member and have to pay full membership dues to be reinstated.

3. Spouses are not included with individual memberships. If you would like to add your spouse to NEC member status, it is a $10 fee per year.

4: Membership may only be revoked or suspended as a result of:

a: Non-payment of dues
b: A majority vote at a meeting as a result of dangerous or disruptive behavior
4: Membership dues will not be refunded to any member who terminates their membership, either by choice or by unanimous vote by the members. Certain circumstances will be considered for refund. These cases will be decided upon by the club president.

a: Resignation of any member shall be in writing and submitted to the club president.
5: Benefits of joining NEC:

a: Access to the members only section on the NEC message board.
b: Members only trail rides and meet and greets, to be held monthly.
c: You will receive a NEC membership card, members only t-shirt and decal.
d: Your vehicle will also be featured on the members rides section of the website.
e: As the club grows, we will be purchasing club insurance, copy righting our name and filing for non-profit organization.
f: NEC members receive club discounts with various companies that benefit all of our members. For example, 4Wheel Drive Hardware, National Tire and Wheel, etc.
g: Bi-monthly members only newsletter.

6: Members who have not attended at least 2 of the previous 6 membership meetings shall be considered "distant" members and waive voting rights until that time in which the said member has attended at least 2 of the previous 6 membership meetings.
Article 3: New Members-Application for membership shall follow the following procedure:
1: Applicants for membership must be at least eighteen years of age (exception may be made by decision of the Board of Directors).

2: Any new member who applies into NEC will have to come to one of the monthly meet and greets or join us on a trail ride BEFORE they are accepted.

3: All current members will then vote on whether or not this new applicant is accepted or denied into the club via the New Members Applications forum on the Message Board.

a: This forum will be viewed by registered club members on the message board only. We'll post the new applicant's information there and give everyone the opportunity to vote whether or not he or she should be let into the club. The final say ultimately will be between the club president and/or the vice president if voting is close.
